Spring Programs in English
|Choose to Move||Weekly online exercise program for older adults that focuses on overall strength while improving your core, posture and balance.|
|Heart Healthy Eating||This workshop focuses on lifestyle and dietary changes to help you achieve optimal health and wellbeing. Learn to read food label and get the facts on fat, cholesterol, fibre and salt.|
|Mama Tribe||Mom and baby peer support group that provides an opportunity to connect and discuss various social, developmental and educational topics along with regular guest speakers.|
|Mindful Mondays||Weekly online mindfulness program where you will develop a greater awareness of your breath, senses, lifestyle, relationship and how to mindfully manage pain (both emotional and physical).|
Moving Forward with your Feet
|Online information session is led by a physiotherapist and will help you evaluate your feet and possible causes of your pain. You will also learn about proper footwear and how to improve your mobility through various tips and tools.|
|Parkinson’s Dance Group||This fun and stimulating dance therapy program is for individuals with Parkinson’s and their care partners. This program will help you improve balance, coordination and ease of motion.|
|Prenatal Breastfeeding Class||Hosted by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, this online class covers a variety of topics to help support breastfeeding including: How your body makes milk, feeding cues, different breastfeeding positions and more.|
|Quit Cafe||Do you want to quit smoking and need support? During the pandemic, free Nicotine Replacement Therapy (i.e. the patch, gum, lozenges or inhaler) continues to be dispensed for up to 26 weeks onsite at Chigamik.
|Stay Active||This workshop is focused on Osteoarthritis of the Hip & Knee will teach participants all they need to know about hip and knee osteoarthritis. This includes joint anatomy, pain management skills, and tools to keep you as active as possible|
|Our weekly, four-part, online learning series will focus on a new topic related to the management of low bone mass, followed by a short exercise session led by Chigamik’s physiotherapist|

|Nia||Six-part fun and energizing online exercise series called NIA! NIA is a powerful fusion of dance, martial arts and mindfulness that uses holistic movements and wellness practices to address every aspect of your life – body, mind and spirit.|
|Understanding Mental Health & Wellbeing in Later Life||This workshop series is for individuals 65+ and will discuss a variety of topics specific to mental health and wellbeing.|
Spring Cultural Programs
|Conversational Ojibwe Language Group||This weekly group is for anyone who is well-versed in the Ojibwe language fundamentals and wants to take the next step in their learning journey.|
|Energy Wellness||Join Traditional Healer Pam Tremblay-Hayes for this interactive teaching circle. Participants will learn an energy healing technique from the Indigenous world view perspective.
|Ojibwe Language Group Fundamentals||This weekly online program provides a safe space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals to explore the Ojibwe language at a beginner level.
|Song of Life, Dance of Spirit||Each of us has a sacred song within that teaches us about this journey through life and shows us how to connect with the Medicines.|
|Star Ancestry||Do we come from the stars? Star ancestral knowledge is within all of us! Together, with Traditional Healer Troy Green, we will try to unravel the truth and myths about the stars and their relation to us.|
|We are all Related||This workshop, led by Traditional Practitioner Brian George, will focus on a discussion about the equinox, solstice and the seasons.|
|Why we use Sacred Tobacco||This workshop will encourage participants to share and teach each other in story form. The interactive circle will discuss what it means to use tobacco with offerings to the Spirit, each other, nature and for ceremonies.|
